Which is the biggest chainring I can use in the Podium? Podium is designed for 2X or 1X. For 1X the maximum chainring you can use is 36T.
Which rear hub spacing is compatible with the Podium? Podium features a Boost 148mm rear hub, so it’s not compatible with any other rear hub size, not even using additional spacers, as the flange for the rotor position is different.
Can I use a dropper post in the Podium? Yes you can. In fact, the frame is ready for the internal routing of a Stealth-type dropper post.
Which is the maximum tire size I can use in the Podium? With an internal width rim size up to 25mm –currently Podium models are specced with 22 or 23 mm internal width rims- maximum tire size you can use is 29x2.4”which guarantees enough clearance to shed the mud easily
Which rear disc brake can I use with Flat-Mount system? Currently you have the SRAM Level TLM model with Flat Mount direct caliper. However, you can use any other brake caliper using a rear brake Flat Mount adaptor to Direct Mount.
Can I use a standard stem in the Podium? There is no mechanical obstacle on using standard stems, but at Mondraker we will not be responsible if the frame is damaged in the case of a crash, as IST-EVO is exclusively designed for the Podium stem.
How many Podium stem lengths are there? We have available the following stem lengths: 75mm, 90mm, 105mm, 115mm.
Is it possible to adjust the Podium stem height? Podium stem itself acts as the top headset cap. You could use spacers to rise the stem height, but you would have to use the top bearing cap too. It is important to note that if you are already using a fork with a cut down steerer tube, it will not be possible to rise the stem, as there will not be enough space for the stem to be properly clamped to the fork’s steerer tube.
Which fork travel can I use in the Podium? You can use up to 120 mm forks, so head angle will be 1º slacker and bottom bracket height will rise around 5 milimeters.
Is it possible to use non-Boost type crankset in the Podium? There are some cases that you can use non-Boost type cranks, for instance, some Race Face models have a chainline in between the standard 142 mm and Boost 148 mm rear hub spacing, so they will be perfectly compatible with the Podium. It’s important to notice the chairing size. The bigger the size, the wider the chainline needed.

What do Mondraker e-MTBs offer? e-Prime, e-Vantage, e-Crafty and e-Panzer are the electric bike models on Mondraker’s 2017 range. Aboard them, you will discover a new dimension to enjoy mountain biking without limits, on an all-terrain bike concept featuring the best latest-generation technologies currently offered by Mondraker, combined with an ideal wheel size and width such as 27’5 x 2,8” on the e-Prime, 27´5 x 3.0” on the e-Vantage and e-Crafty models and 26 x 4.8” on the e-Panzer. All of them are also powered by Performance CX Bosch drive unit specifically designed for mountain bikes. The combination of this drive unit and the 27´5+ wheel size and Forward Geometry offer a unique riding experience.
How do pedal-assisted electric bikes work? The concept of an e-MTB holds no mystery. These bikes have a specific frame, exclusive to each model with the electric engine in the bottom, and the battery on the main tube, which is its power supply. Mondraker e-MTBs have 10 or 11 speeds depending on the model, and the only difference compared to a non-electric mountain bike in the constant assistance provided by its drive unit as we pedal. Within the electric bike industry, our e-MTBs are commonly referred to as “pedelecs” with pedal assistance from low revs up to 25 km/h, when the engine stops its assistance. Based on these features, pedelecs are considered bikes and do not require any insurance, nor need to be registered on the Traffic department, or use a licence plate or lights to ride on urban roads. These are legal requirements for those bikes with higher assistance, referred to as “speed pedelecs”, which can reach speeds up to 45 km/h.
Is the drive unit help or assistance adjustable? You can easily adjust the pedalling assistance through the display located on the handlebars: Eco, with a 50% boost assistance added plus our leg power when pedalling, Tour, with 120%; Sport, with 210% and Turbo, up to 300% boost, a really powerful assistance level that will help us climb impossible climbs and ride faster with less physical effort.
Are e-MTBs only for less experienced people or those unwilling to try hard on the bike? Unfortunately, there are many urban legends and criticisms by a large public segment that does not understand this kind of bikes or see them as a threat to the other “motorless” mountain bikes. But every negative opinion and criticism towards e-MTBs become praises and positive feedbacks when you try them out and discover a new world of possibilities and riding joy with all they have to offer. Riding an e-MTB is hardly any different from a traditional MTB, although they are heavier and have greater momentum when cornering and going downhill. Pedalling assistance means a total advantage that increases the fun factor, enabling you to go faster with less effort... but still pedalling hard and doing physical exercise. This means that we will have to pedal almost the same, but thanks to the different assistance modes that we can select on the handlebar display, we can decide it will be harder or easier. But if we want, we can push as hard as with a non electric MTB. The main advantage is that we go faster. This kind of bikes opens up a new dimension for those riders who are not in a good shape, as they may benefit from greater assistance and climb faster as opposed to those who are in a better physical shape; but more expert riders will also be the ones who will really appreciate and take the most advantage and get the most potential provided by this type of e-MTBs.
What type of maintenance or reviews do drive units require? Absolutely none. Nor is it required to lubricate any parts in the drive unit nor disassemble it... all you have to do is taking care for it as a traditional mountain bike. It is important to mention, however, as a precaution applicable to any mountain bike: electronic parts and, specifically, the bottom bracket area of the drive unit should never be cleaned with any high-pressure washer machine. Therefore, it is not possible to use high-pressure water to clean the cranks axle directly as the electronic parts of the drive unit can be seriously damaged.
How long does the battery last? Battery duration is highly subjective, as it depends on the type of terrain we are pedalling on, the ups and downs, the rider’s weight and, above all, the assistance level we have chosen. On Eco mode we can ride several hours before the battery drains completely, but on Turbo mode, overusing the assistance and riding uphill all the time can ruin battery life sooner than we think. Having said this, average range may be 3 or 4 hours with a logical use of our e-MTB, riding from 50 to 120 km depending on conditions. The 500 Wh battery is 80% recharged in 2 hrs. and 30 minutes, reaching 100% of charge in 3 hrs. and 30 minutes. Five LEDs on the handlebar display show how much battery life is left. From 100% full range, every LED means 20% of battery duration.
Can I make changes to the bike, such as transmission and tyres, or can I replace the wheels and install 29er wheels, for example? Bikes are hand-assembled at our Mondraker facilities and each bike’s technical parameters and programming are also set by us to ensure its perfect performance and all relevant homologation. Wheel size and tire size, number of speeds and its different sprocket numbers etc, are introduced into each bike’s setting program for proper performance. And any modification or system update must be carried out by an official Mondraker dealer featuting Bosch’s certificate and diagnostic kit. Having said this yes, it is possible to replace the tyres with similar ones, of the same diameter, but replacing the main single ring or rear cogset requires modifying the standard programming settings. In this case, you must visit your official Mondraker dealer to manage these changes.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO MOUNT ANY BOTTLE CAGE? Level allows the possibility of using one bottle cage below the top tube.
IS IT Di2 COMPATIBLE? Level is Di2 compatible. First thing you have to do is installing a software update so the Di2 system can use the energy from the motor’ battery. As the chainstay lacks of internal guiding you have to be very careful to protect the rear derailleur cable. Di2 system on e-bikes makes greater and faster wear on chain and cassette due to the motor power assistance, and at Mondraker we assume no liability for any thereby resulting damage or faster components’ wear.
WHICH TYPE OF MAINTENANCE OR SAFETY CHECKS DO MOTORS REQUIRE? Absolutely none. Nor is it required to lubricate any parts in the drive unit nor disassemble it... all you have to do is taking care for it as a traditional mountain bike. It is important to mention, however, as a precaution applicable to any mountain bike: electronic parts and, specifically, the bottom bracket area of the drive unit should never be cleaned with any high-pressure washer machine. WHAT SHOCKS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH CRUSHER? Crusher is compatible with all kinds of shocks, with or without deposit, Fox DPS, DPX2, RockShox Deluxe, Super Deluxe. It is not compatible with higher volume air shocks like Fox Float X2 or RockShox Vivid Air, and spring shocks are not compatible either. Crushers is assembled with metric measuring shocks with Trunnion mount, so it does not require upper bushings whereas a 22.2x10mm bottom bushing is used.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM FORK TRAVEL THAT CAN BE INSTALLED IN CRUSHER? Crusher is compatible with forks up to 170mm.
IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH 29” WHEELS? Crusher is compatible with 29” wheels, but it depends on the tyre that we use as it can compromise the space between it and the seat stay, especially with mud. It is important to know that the motor is programmed for the preinstalled wheel diameter, so using a different wheel diameter would change the motor performance and the information shown on the display.
CAN I MAKE CHANGES IN THE BIKE SUCH AS TRANSMISION OR TYRES? The bicycles are assembled manually in our Mondraker buildings and the technical measures for each bicycle and its programming is also made by us is order to ensure its perfect performance as well as its corresponding standardization. The tyre size, the amount of speeds and teeth of the cogs, etc. is information that is registered in the setting programme of each bike so that it works perfectly and every modification or system upgrade has to be carried out in a Mondraker point of sale.
CAN THE CRUSHER BATTERY BE REMOVED FROM THE FRAME? The battery can be easily removed from the frame using a 5mm hex key to remove the carbon inner tap from the down tube.
IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH DI2? Crusher is compatible with DI2 shifts. First, it is necessary to upgrade the motor software to enable the Di2 system to work. The DI2 system installed in e-bikes provokes a higher chain and cassette wear due to the power of the motor. Mondraker does not take responsibility for this premature wear.
WHAT KIND OF MAINTENANCE OR REVISIONS DO THE MOTORS REQUIRE? Absolutely none. It is not necessary either to oil any of the parts in the motor, or disassemble it, you only have to take the same care as with a traditional mountain bike. But we do have to mention a preventive measure applicable to any current mountain bike: the electric parts and concretely the motor central movement cannot be cleaned with any kind of machinery with pressure washing, so it is not possible to use high pressure washing directly as it may harm the electric parts in the motor.
