FAQs

Podium

Podium is designed for 2X or 1X. For 1X the maximum chainring you can use is 36T.

Podium features a Boost 148mm rear hub, so it’s not compatible with any other rear hub size, not even using additional spacers, as the flange for the rotor position is different.

Yes you can. In fact, the frame is ready for the internal routing of a Stealth-type dropper post.

With an internal width rim size up to 25mm –currently Podium models are specced with 22 or 23 mm internal width rims- maximum tire size you can use is 29x2.4”which guarantees enough clearance to shed the mud easily

Currently you have the SRAM Level TLM model with Flat Mount direct caliper. However, you can use any other brake caliper using a rear brake Flat Mount adaptor to Direct Mount.

There is no mechanical obstacle on using standard stems, but at Mondraker we will not be responsible if the frame is damaged in the case of a crash, as IST-EVO is exclusively designed for the Podium stem.

We have available the following stem lengths: 75mm, 90mm, 105mm, 115mm.

Podium stem itself acts as the top headset cap. You could use spacers to rise the stem height, but you would have to use the top bearing cap too. It is important to note that if you are already using a fork with a cut down steerer tube, it will not be possible to rise the stem, as there will not be enough space for the stem to be properly clamped to the fork’s steerer tube.

You can use up to 120 mm forks, so head angle will be 1º slacker and bottom bracket height will rise around 5 milimeters.

There are some cases that you can use non-Boost type cranks, for instance, some Race Face models have a chainline in between the standard 142 mm and Boost 148 mm rear hub spacing, so they will be perfectly compatible with the Podium. It’s important to notice the chairing size. The bigger the size, the wider the chainline needed.

Sizing is different from one user to another. Personal likings are very different and the type of use of the bike is also very important for this decision. This is a general chart that could be used as a sizing guide:

1.58 – 1.68 S
1.67 – 1.76 M
1.75 – 1.86 L
1.85 – 1.95 XL

Dune

The change is in the upper link, now compatible with shocks with Trunnion mount. The seat stay has also changed in the link area with the upper link.

2020 / 2019 Dune Alloy kinematics stay the same. Only the new shock has been updated both in its internal tune, 205x65 mm metric sized and also being Trunnion upper mount and longer rear wheel travel.

The upper link and swingarm are compatible with previous Dune Alloy models, as long as you also update the shock to the new 205x65 mm metric sizing as well, standard from 2019 Dune Alloy.

You can fit mostly all in-line type of shocks and also piggy-back style shocks except the ones with bigger volume air bodies such as Fox Float X2 or RockShox Vivid Air.

You can use forks up to 180 mm travel. Compared to a 170 mm fork, head angle would be 0,5º slacker and BB height would rise around 5 mm.

With a rim inner width of up to 30mm –currently the Dune models are assembled with rims of 27 or 30mm inner width- the biggest tyre that can be set is 27.5x2.5”, which guarantees enough space to clear the mud.

Dune is designed for combinations of 2x and 1x discs. For the 1x combination, the biggest disc that can be installed is 36 teeth.

There is a geometry kit available for the Dune, which includes two headset cups to slacken the head angle 1º.

Sizing is different from one user to another. Personal likings are very different and the type of use of the bike is also very important for this decision. This is a general chart that could be used as a sizing guide:

  • 1.58 – 1.68 S
  • 1.67 – 1.76 M
  • 1.75 – 1.86 L
  • 1.85 – 1.95 XL

Bike design due to the exclusive rear suspension and shock placement and the short seat tube makes it necessary to be aware on the dropper post length.  This chart shows the length of the dropper post that, as maximum, can be lowered with RockShox Reverb Stealth and Fox Transfer internal routing posts as examples.

Foxy carbon 275

The new Foxy has not inner cable routing to host the DI2 shift cables, so if it is installed you have to be careful with the protection of the shift cable, especially below the bottom bracket cage.

The size use differs depending on the user. Personal preferences are very different and what the bike is used for also matter when making this decision. This is a general chart that can be used as a guide:

S 1.58  -  1.68
M 1.67  -  1.76
L 1.75  -  1.86
XL 1.85  -  1.95

It is compatible even with round discs with 34 teeth or 32 teeth if oval.

Foxy Carbon 27.5 is compatible with rear tyres up to 66mm wide, which would match with 27,5x2.6” tyres, but even so it is advisable to measure the tyre before installing it as the actual measure may vary depending on the manufacturer.

Foxy Carbon is compatible with forks up to 160mm.

The geometry kit is included in Foxy Carbon XR and in Foxy Carbon XR individual frames, and it includes:

1. Steering cups set which include new bearings to adjust the fork angle to +/-1º

2. Set of rear derailleur hangers which enable to change the chainstay length to +/-10mm.

The geometry kits are different depending on the size and it is determined by the head tube. Therefore, each geometry kit is exclusive for each size.

Foxy 29

Foxy Alloy is compatible up to 34T round-standard type rings or 32T for oval rings.

Foxy Alloy is compatible with tires up to 63 mm wide which translate into 29”x 2.5” tires. However it is recommended to measure the tire before installing as the real width might be different depending on the manufacturer.

Foxy Carbon 29 and Foxy 29 have the same kinematics.

Foxy 29 is compatible with forks up to 160mm.

In addition to the ones we use for the different models, it is also compatible with Fox Float X2, DHX2, RockShox SuperDeluxe Air or Coil. Foxy Alloy feature metric sized 205 x 62,5 mm shocks with Trunnion upper mount and bottom 22.2x10 mm standard hardware.

e-MTB

e-Prime, e-Vantage, e-Crafty and e-Panzer are the electric bike models on Mondraker’s 2017 range. Aboard them, you will discover a new dimension to enjoy mountain biking without limits, on an all-terrain bike concept featuring the best latest-generation technologies currently offered by Mondraker, combined with an ideal wheel size and width such as 27’5 x 2,8” on the e-Prime, 27´5 x 3.0” on the e-Vantage and e-Crafty models and 26 x 4.8” on the e-Panzer. All of them are also powered by Performance CX Bosch drive unit specifically designed for mountain bikes. The combination of this drive unit and the 27´5+ wheel size and Forward Geometry offer a unique riding experience.

The concept of an e-MTB holds no mystery. These bikes have a specific frame, exclusive to each model with the electric engine in the bottom, and the battery on the main tube, which is its power supply. Mondraker e-MTBs have 10 or 11 speeds depending on the model, and the only difference compared to a non-electric mountain bike in the constant assistance provided by its drive unit as we pedal. Within the electric bike industry, our e-MTBs are commonly referred to as “pedelecs” with pedal assistance from low revs up to 25 km/h, when the engine stops its assistance. Based on these features, pedelecs are considered bikes and do not require any insurance, nor need to be registered on the Traffic department, or use a licence plate or lights to ride on urban roads. These are legal requirements for those bikes with higher assistance, referred to as “speed pedelecs”, which can reach speeds up to 45 km/h.

You can easily adjust the pedalling assistance through the display located on the handlebars: Eco, with a 50% boost assistance added plus our leg power when pedalling, Tour, with 120%; Sport, with 210% and Turbo, up to 300% boost, a really powerful assistance level that will help us climb impossible climbs and ride faster with less physical effort.

Unfortunately, there are many urban legends and criticisms by a large public segment that does not understand this kind of bikes or see them as a threat to the other “motorless” mountain bikes. But every negative opinion and criticism towards e-MTBs become praises and positive feedbacks when you try them out and discover a new world of possibilities and riding joy with all they have to offer. Riding an e-MTB is hardly any different from a traditional MTB, although they are heavier and have greater momentum when cornering and going downhill. Pedalling assistance means a total advantage that increases the fun factor, enabling you to go faster with less effort... but still pedalling hard and doing physical exercise. This means that we will have to pedal almost the same, but thanks to the different assistance modes that we can select on the handlebar display, we can decide it will be harder or easier. But if we want, we can push as hard as with a non electric MTB. The main advantage is that we go faster. This kind of bikes opens up a new dimension for those riders who are not in a good shape, as they may benefit from greater assistance and climb faster as opposed to those who are in a better physical shape; but more expert riders will also be the ones who will really appreciate and take the most advantage and get the most potential provided by this type of e-MTBs.

Absolutely none. Nor is it required to lubricate any parts in the drive unit nor disassemble it... all you have to do is taking care for it as a traditional mountain bike. It is important to mention, however, as a precaution applicable to any mountain bike: electronic parts and, specifically, the bottom bracket area of the drive unit should never be cleaned with any high-pressure washer machine. Therefore, it is not possible to use high-pressure water to clean the cranks axle directly as the electronic parts of the drive unit can be seriously damaged.

Battery duration is highly subjective, as it depends on the type of terrain we are pedalling on, the ups and downs, the rider’s weight and, above all, the assistance level we have chosen. On Eco mode we can ride several hours before the battery drains completely, but on Turbo mode, overusing the assistance and riding uphill all the time can ruin battery life sooner than we think. Having said this, average range may be 3 or 4 hours with a logical use of our e-MTB, riding from 50 to 120 km depending on conditions. The 500 Wh battery is 80% recharged in 2 hrs. and 30 minutes, reaching 100% of charge in 3 hrs. and 30 minutes. Five LEDs on the handlebar display show how much battery life is left. From 100% full range, every LED means 20% of battery duration.

Bikes are hand-assembled at our Mondraker facilities and each bike’s technical parameters and programming are also set by us to ensure its perfect performance and all relevant homologation. Wheel size and tire size, number of speeds and its different sprocket numbers etc, are introduced into each bike’s setting program for proper performance. And any modification or system update  must be carried out by an official Mondraker dealer featuting Bosch’s certificate and diagnostic kit. Having said this yes, it is possible to replace the tyres with similar ones, of the same diameter, but replacing the main single ring or rear cogset requires modifying the standard programming settings. In this case, you must visit your official Mondraker dealer to manage these changes.

Dune Carbon

2020 Dune Carbon frameset maintains the same front triangle compared to the previous ones, but the new 148x12 mm swingarm and suspension links are different. New carbon upper link is Trunnion mount and the lower link is compatible with 22,2x10 mm shock hardware.

2020 Dune Carbon kinematics stay the same. The new shock has been updated both in its internal tune, 205x65 mm metric sized and also being Trunnion upper mount and longer rear wheel travel.

The new seat stay is compatible with Dune Carbon frames from previous seasons, as long as the new link is also used. It is important to know that both shock and back wheel will have to use the new 2019 Dune Carbon standards.

Dune Alloy frame weight with hardware without shock: 2.880g.

Dune Carbon frame weight with hardware without shock: 2.490g.

390g difference.

Yes, it’s the same kinematics for both models.

Geometry kit comes standard with Dune Carbon XR and also with the Dune Carbon XR frameset kit, and contains the following parts:

  1. Adjustable headset cups and bearings to adjust the head angle +/-1º
  2. Set of rear dropouts to adjust chainstay length by +10 mm. Including the different derailleur hanger.
  3. Set of different rear brake caliper mounting +/-10 mm.

Geometry kits are different according to each size related to the different headtube height. So, every geometry kit is exclusive for every size.

Dune Carbon steering cups are also compatible with Foxy Carbon.

With -1º cups installed, wheelbase increases by 5 mm and bottom bracket drops 2 mm. Effective seat angle slackens 0.2º and top tube effective distance is reduced in 5 mm.

Besides the RockShox SuperDeluxe Coil OE on 2020 Dune Carbon XR, it is also compatible with air or coil FOX Float X2 and DHX2 shocks and also Öhlins TTX Air, TTX22 y STX Air models. It is not compatible with RockShox Vivid Air or Cane Creek Double Barrel Air / Coil.

Dune Carbon chainguide is compatible with 30T, 32T y 34T rings.

Plus

“Plus” wheels provide greater riding comfort, superior traction and cornering grip with minimum extra weight, which leads to more enjoyment and establish a new dimension in mountain biking.

According to the features described above of better cornering grip and greater traction, you already can already imagine the higher control and security level that this new wheel size offers. Such safety is the perfect claim for less technical or less experienced riders to be able to tackle new challenges never imagined before. The most technical riders can also enjoy new thrills such as climbing very steep trails or railing turns with total confidence: examples of what the new Plus world has to offer.

At Mondraker we differ models in Trail category from the ones in All Mountain category. This way we find Prime + and Factor + 120 mm travel models with 2.8” tires and Vantage + and Crafty + 140 mm travel with 3.0” tires.

As soon as you experience how easy these bikes roll, the extra uphill traction, the greater overall comfort and better cornering grip you will discover a whole new world of fun. With Plus wheels you will roll over obstacles with less effort in a more natural way, you will ride along winding terrain with added safety and control, and because of the bigger tire volume you will have lower risk of having a puncture. Many added advantages concerning its larger sizes of 2.8” or 3.0” that, as soon as you experience it, will lead you to discover the infinite fun possibilities that Plus wheels offer.

Support

Basically, it is the store where you bought your Mondraker, your contact person in these cases. He will manage your incident and will contact us to find out how to proceed.  The store is responsible for co-ordinating to resolve the incident.

Level

Although both share similar tubings, geometries are exclusive to each model as rear suspension kinematics differ, and rear shocks and suspension travel is different on both models.

In addition to the RockShox Super Deluxe Coil as standard on both models, Leve lis also compatible with Fox DPS, DPX2, Float X2, DHX2 and similar options such as Öhlins TTX Air, TTX22 and STX Air. Level feature metric sized 225 x 75 mm shocks with Trunnion upper mount while using 25 x 10 mm bottom standard hardware

Level is compatible with forks up to 180 mm travel.

Level is compatible with 27’5 x 2,80” Plus tires knowing that BB height might drop significantly depending on the tire size.

Bikes are hand-assembled at our Mondraker facilities and each bike’s technical parameters and programming are also set by us to ensure its perfect performance and all relevant homologation. Wheel size and tire size, number of speeds and its different sprocket numbers etc., are introduced into each bike’s setting program for proper performance. Any modification or system firmware update must be carried out by an official Mondraker dealer.

Yes, you can remove the battery from the frame easily without the need to use any tools.

Level allows the possibility of using one bottle cage below the top tube.

Level is Di2 compatible. First thing you have to do is installing a software update so the Di2 system can use the energy from the motor’ battery. As the chainstay lacks of internal guiding you have to be very careful to protect the rear derailleur cable. Di2 system on e-bikes makes greater and faster wear on chain and cassette due to the motor power assistance, and at Mondraker we assume no liability for any thereby resulting damage or faster components’ wear.

Absolutely none. Nor is it required to lubricate any parts in the drive unit nor disassemble it... all you have to do is taking care for it as a traditional mountain bike. Crusher

Crusher is compatible with all kinds of shocks, with or without deposit, Fox DPS, DPX2, RockShox Deluxe, Super Deluxe. It is not compatible with higher volume air shocks like Fox Float X2 or RockShox Vivid Air, and spring shocks are not compatible either. Crushers is assembled with metric measuring shocks with Trunnion mount, so it does not require upper bushings whereas a 22.2x10mm bottom bushing is used.

Crusher is compatible with forks up to 170mm.

Crusher is compatible with 29” wheels, but it depends on the tyre that we use as it can compromise the space between it and the seat stay, especially with mud. It is important to know that the motor is programmed for the preinstalled wheel diameter, so using a different wheel diameter would change the motor performance and the information shown on the display.

The bicycles are assembled manually in our Mondraker buildings and the technical measures for each bicycle and its programming is also made by us is order to ensure its perfect performance as well as its corresponding standardization. The tyre size, the amount of speeds and teeth of the cogs, etc. is information that is registered in the setting programme of each bike so that it works perfectly and every modification or system upgrade has to be carried out in a Mondraker point of sale.

The battery can be easily removed from the frame using a 5mm hex key to remove the carbon inner tap from the down tube.

It is possible to install a bottle cage in the down tube.

Crusher is compatible with DI2 shifts. First, it is necessary to upgrade the motor software to enable the Di2 system to work. The DI2 system installed in e-bikes provokes a higher chain and cassette wear due to the power of the motor. Mondraker does not take responsibility for this premature wear.

Absolutely none. It is not necessary either to oil any of the parts in the motor, or disassemble it, you only have to take the same care as with a traditional mountain bike. But we do have to mention a preventive measure applicable to any current mountain bike: the electric parts and concretely the motor central movement cannot be cleaned with any kind of machinery with pressure washing, so it is not possible to use high pressure washing directly as it may harm the electric parts in the motor.

Crafty

Crafty is compatible with all coil sprung, air inline or piggyback shocks such as Fox DPS, DPX2, RockShox Deluxe, Super Deluxe Air or Coil as well as Float X2 o DHX2 or Öhlins TTX Air, TTX22 and STX Air. Crafty feature metric sized 205 x 65 mm shocks with Trunnion upper mount while using 25 x 10 mm bottom standard hardware

Crafty is compatible with forks up to 160 mm travel.

Crafty is compatible with 27’5 x 2,80” Plus tires knowing that BB height might drop significantly depending on the tire size.

Crafty allows the possibility of using one bottle cage below the top tube.

Crafty is Di2 compatible.

Sizes differ from one rider to other. Personal preferences are very unique and how you ride your bike is also important when choosing the correct size. This is a standard size chart you can use as a guideline:

Chaser

Crafty is compatible with all kinds of shocks, with or without deposit, like Fox DPS, DPX2, RockShox Deluxe, Super Deluxe. It is not compatible with higher volume air shocks like Fox Float X2 or RockShox Vivid Air, and spring shocks are not compatible either. Chaser is assembled with metric measuring shocks with Trunnion mount, so it does not require upper bushings whereas a 22.2x10mm bottom bushing is used.

Chaser is compatible with forks up to 160mm.

Chaser is not compatible with 29” wheels, as the frame is designed to use only 27,5+ 2.8” wheels, the perfect combination for an e-bike with these features, providing the traction in uphills and the grip and brake power in downhills which are perfect to have the most fun on the bike.

The battery can be easily removed from the frame without any tools.

It is possible to install two bottle cages in Crafty, one under the top tube and other under the down tube.

Chaser is compatible with DI2 shifts. First, it is necessary to upgrade the motor software to enable the Di2 system to use the energy in the motor battery. As it has no inner routing in the chain stay, you have to be extremely cautious to protect the shift cable. The DI2 system installed in e-bikes provoke a higher chain and cassette wear due to the power of the motor.

F-Podium

You can fit any in-line type of shock such as RockShox Deluxe or similar, 185 x 47,5 mm, metric sized Trunnion upper mount and 22,2 x 10 mm bottom hardware.

F-Podium is compatible with forks up to 120mm travel. If you own a F-Podium with 100 mm Fox fork, fitting a 120 mm one will slack the head angle by 1º degree and raise the bottom bracket height around 10 mm.

With a maximum recommended internal rim width of 30 mm – F-Podium spec 25 mm inner rim widths as standard- the maximum recommended tire you can fit is 29 x 2.4” which guarantees proper clearance to shed mud.

F-Podium is only compatible with 1X drivetrains up to a 36T round-standard type ring or 34T oval ring.

Both on F-Podium and F-Podium DC you can use one bottle cage on the downtube.

Sizes differ from one rider to other. Personal prefferences are very unique and how you ride your bike is also important when choosing the correct size. This is a standard size chart you can use as a guideline.

SuperFoxy

In addition to the ones we use for the different models, it is also compatible with Öhlins TTX Air, TTX22 y STX Air o RockShox Super Deluxe Coil o Air. SuperFoxy Carbon feature metric sized shocks with Trunnion upper mount and bottom 22.2x10 mm standard hardware.

SuperFoxy Carbon is compatible with forks up to 170 mm travel.

SuperFoxy Carbon is compatible with tires up to 66 mm wide which translate into 29”x 2.6” tires. However it is recommended to measure the tire before installing as the real width might be different depending on the manufacturer.

Only SuperBoost 157x12mm rear axles are compatible in SuperFoxy Carbon 29, that's why a standard Boost 148x12 wheel is not suitable.

SuperFoxy Carbon is compatible up to 34T round-standard type rings or 32T for oval rings.

Geometry kit comes standard only with the SuperFoxy Carbon RR model and also with the SuperFoxy Carbon RR frameset kit, and contains the following parts:

  1. Adjustable headset cups to adjust the head angle back to 0º from the -1° set as standard.
  2. Set of rear dropouts to adjust chainstay length by +10 mm.
